Retail growth on the North Richmond radar

NORTH Richmond is expected to remain a key focus for retail investment as population growth continues across the northern Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury City Council planning documents identify North Richmond as the primary retail precinct for the northern Hawkesbury, providing an important shopping destination for surrounding communities.

The precinct, centred on Bells Line of Road, includes the Coles-anchored North Richmond Shopping Centre, Heritage Plaza and a standalone Aldi supermarket.

Council-commissioned retail analysis has previously projected increasing demand for retail floorspace across the Hawkesbury, with an overall shortage emerging as the population grows.

Further residential growth is also planned around North Richmond, including a proposal for up to 350 homes at Kemsley Park.

Council is also progressing expanded community facilities to support the growing population west of the Hawkesbury River.
