New ambulance station to boost Hawkesbury emergency care
HAWKESBURY residents are set to benefit from improved emergency medical services with a new purpose-built ambulance station planned for Acacia Close at South Windsor.
The new facility will provide NSW Ambulance paramedics with modern infrastructure while strengthening emergency response capacity across the growing Hawkesbury region.
NSW Government spokesperson for Hawkesbury Peter Primrose said the investment would help ensure local paramedics had the facilities needed to continue providing emergency and mobile medical care to the community.
The South Windsor station will complement the existing Richmond Ambulance Station, providing additional capacity and helping NSW Ambulance respond to current and future demand across the district.
The project is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $488.8 million Ambulance Infrastructure Program, which is funding new and upgraded ambulance stations across the state.
Modern ambulance stations are designed to provide paramedics with improved operational facilities, including areas for vehicles and equipment, staff amenities and spaces supporting day-to-day emergency operations.
The South Windsor location is expected to strengthen the local ambulance network and provide an important additional base for paramedics responding to emergencies throughout the Hawkesbury.
The project forms part of broader investment aimed at supporting frontline health workers and ensuring ambulance infrastructure keeps pace with population growth and changing community needs across NSW.
